South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham appeared on CNN with host Dana Bash to talk about Trump pulling troops from Syria. During the interview Dana Bash tried to pin blame on Trump for the mess in Syria and the middle east, but Lindsey Graham was having none of it. Graham turned it around claiming he doesn’t agree with Trump pulling out of Syria, but he was also dealt the bad hand from Obama.
Dana Bash attempted to refute Graham;s statements by saying Obama pulled due to a treaty, which led Lindsey Graham to say an expletive on National Television.
“Everything we’re dealing with today falls on Obama’s watch,” Graham argued. “He’s the one who withdrew from Iraq.”
Bash stated, “But he did it because there was a Status of Forces Agreement.”
Graham responded, “No, that’s a bunch of bullshit. Pardon my French — that’s a complete lie.”
According to the Daily Caller, “The U.S. and Iraq finalized a Status of Forces Agreement in 2008 wherein the U.S. government agreed to pull all troops out of Iraq by the end of 2011. However, the agreement was dependent on the current status of ground operations and the Bush administration expected that Obama would renegotiate the deal rather than pull out all of the troops at once.”
