Former Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein appeared in the Senate for a committee hearing lead by Lindsey Graham on Wednesday morning.
During the hearing Rod Rosenstein seemed to place blame on Andrew McCabe for not being candid with him on all information. This led to McCabe responding calling Rosenstein’s statements false.
Rosenstein stated, “I believe, Senator, Mr. McCabe was not fully candid with me, certainly wasn’t forthcoming. In particular, Senator, with regard to [former FBI Director James B.] Comey’s memorandum of his interviews with the president and with regard to the FBI’s suspicions about the president.”
In a statement released by Andrew McCabe he called Rosenstein’s statements “completely false.”
McCabe responded, “Mr. Rosenstein’s testimony is completely at odds with the factual record. It looks to be yet another sad attempt by the President and his men to rewrite the history of their actions in 2017. They have found in Mr. Rosenstein — then and now — a willing accessory in that effort.”
Andrew McCabe will be appearing in the same Senate committee hearing and will have to answer to many questions. However, what is clear is either McCabe or Rosenstein is lying, both can not be telling the truth.
